MIDDLE EAST : We should help the ARAB world.  But, it is also imperative that we clearly understand how the people of Israel must feel surrounded by millions of foes, many hating hem to the fanatic level.  That is insane!  And it is a centuries old story!

If I am elected I would pursue by any means available helping ISRAEL to reach a fair and full peace accord with its Arab neighbors.

It is my belief -and innovative idea, I guess- that Israel and Lebanon should be members of the EEU (European Economic Union), and of NATO, not different than Greece or Turkey, and probably more entitled to it than Turkey.  That -in my opinion- would be the best road to bring peace the those troubled lands.  And this idea did not come out of convenience. It only makes sense!  Nobody would dare messing with Israel (or Lebanon for that matter) if they were part of the EEU, and NATO. Also,  Israel would be compelled to follow truly democratic rules.

Israel has to become a full democracy. The way I see it, it is a theocratic democracy Those citizens who are not Jewish do not enjoy equal treatment.  For more than 50 years, Palestinians have been mistreated, and their lands usurped.  Changes are imperative for a full and lasting peace in that region of the world. Trying to keep the "Jewish Character" of the State of Israel is an undemocratic goal, and an impossible dream (given the low population growth-rate of Jews, compared to the that one of their Arab citizens/neighbors).  Building walls, and keeping people in "apartheids" is inutile, expensive, and undemocratic.  A waste of time and money.  And there is not much "time", nor "money" to waste these days.  Israel and most of the Western world are in recession.  In another 40 years Israeli Arabs will be the majority there.

Jews in Israel -and the many Christians of Lebanon- would have a better chance to prosper if their countries were full members of the EEU and NATO.  They would be respected, and both countries would be the beacons of freedom, commerce, and democracy, in the Middle EastIsrael and Lebanon share a lot of common history with the Europeans.

Christians of Lebanon are direct descendants of European Crusaders.

A large percent of the population of Israel is made up of Sephardims.

Sephardim Jews trace their roots to Spain, arrived in Palestine from Spain in the Middle Ages when they were expelled from the Iberia Peninsula by religious zealots (it was due to the religious intolerance of the Catholic Kings: Fernando de Aragon, and Isabel de Castilla).

SYRIA must leave Lebanon ASAP or face the consequences.

IRAQ should allow their weapons facilities to be inspected and destroyed, or else. We should help the Iraqis on the establishment of a democratically elected and fully representative government.

And the same should we do in SUDAN, SOMALIA and Egypt.

The Republic of EGYPT is far from being a republic (from Latin "res publica": government by all).

PALESTINE should be an independent country with strong economic ties to JORDAN first, and hopefully to Israel in the very near future.

IRAN should receive our help to get rid of the religious entanglement where is webbed today. Iranians are silently hoping the western world will help them somehow, they are ready for a fully representative democratic government.
